#TPP Fast Tracked by Senate

Last week, the Senate approved the Fast Track Trade Promotion Authority, prohibiting trade deals from addressing climate change and accelerating the still-under-wraps Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade pact that jeopardizes state’s rights to label GMOs and ban fracking.

According to a new Sierra Club video, the 11-nation TPP would “empower multinational corporations to sue the United States government in private trade courts over domestic laws” and “require the U.S. Department of Energy to automatically approve all exports of natural gas to countries in the pact, opening the floodgates to fracking across the U.S.”
