#MommyGreenestBook Launch with @TheRealLailaAli & Friends!

Laila Ali at Mommy Greenest Pregnancy book launchSo that was–hands down–one of the best days of my life. Not only did I get to celebrate the launch of The Mommy Greenest Guide to Pregnancy, Birth & Beyond at the amazing Naturepedic organic mattress gallery in Beverly Hills, but one of my heroes showed up to the party!

Naturepedic’s founder Barry Cik was on hand to share breaking news about the fight to regulate flame retardants, and Chef Mia Wasilevich of Transitional Gastronomy–who was one of the founding partners of EcoStiletto–created an amazing lunch from organic and foraged ingredients. New and old friends–one whom I’ve known since I was 11–mingled and mixed.

Barry and I announced the winning blogger of the contest sponsored by Naturepedic: The amazing Natalia Lazarus of Generation Pure, who unfortunately could not make it to the event. But serious notables in the blogging world were there, such as Alexandra from Beverly Hills Mom, Christina Simon of Beyond the Brochure, Diane Mizota of Spiritual Playground, Jenny Brandt of Perfectly Disheveled, Jordan Capatano of This Girl Walks Into A Bar, Linda Cevallos of Pushing Motherhood, Rachel AvalonSarah Maizes and Tiffany of Green with Tiffany all showed up to show their support. I cannot thank this tribe enough.

Los Angeles’ essential parenting brands were represented by Catherine McCord of Weelicious, Cheryl Petran of The Pump Station, Laura Gerson of MomAngeles, Nina Karp of The Happiest Baby, Fit Pregnancy founding editor in chief Peg Moline, Tracy Fredkin of SoCalMoms and Vanessa Karubian Saxe of Baby Talk LA. I was so honored that they were all there!

My favorite light-up-the-room friend, the actress Sarah Jane Morris recently seen in “Mad Men,” shared wisdom as a new mother of two. And the inspirational Laila Ali, who is authentic in everything she does, was there to cheer me on.

Seriously, you guys? It doesn’t get better.
