Ask #GOP 2 Talk Climate Change
There is so much crazy going on with this upcoming election, I don’t know where to start. But one place might be with climate change, the giant elephant in the GOP room.
In the first debate, climate change wasn’t mentioned once. Candidates talked about the economy–but never the fact that climate change could cost us more than $380 billion by the end of the century, according to the New York Times.
And they talked about health–but not the fact that climate change could claim more than 12,000 lives by 2100.
This despite a recent Yale University poll showing more than 50% of registered Republicans believe in climate change, and that we need to do something about it.
That’s where Environmental Action’s new Operation Climate Conversation comes in. They’re hosting a petition to demand GOP Presidential debate moderators raise questions about climate change and environmental issues.
I just signed it. Will you? Why or why not? Please tell me about it in comments below. Thanks!
