Mommy Greenest Approved: Vital Proteins Anti-Aging Marine Collagen

anti-aging marine collagen powderI never thought I would be the kind of woman who fought aging. I envisioned myself as aging gracefully, following in the footsteps of women like my aunt, who still practices daily yoga at 70. But then one day I looked in the mirror and the person staring back at me was…different. Her eyes had changed shape; her mouth tilted down. Even her ears had shifted, somehow. She looked like me, but…deflated. I know now that many of these changes happened because of collagen. As we age, the collagen levels in our skin drop, leaving it thinner and less elastic–what I’ve been experiencing, as I get older. But I discovered a way to boost those levels for anti-aging. It’s natural, non-invasive and pescatarian. Want to try? I’ve got some to give away, of course!

I recently discovered a way to boost collagen levels for anti-aging. It’s natural, non-invasive and pescatarian. Want to try? I’ve got some to give away, of course!

Primarily made up of amino acids, collagen is the most abundant protein in the body, responsible for maintaining our connective tissue and musculoskeletal system. As I began noticing how dropping collagen levels affected my skin, I started testing out natural anti-aging creams and serums that promised to plump it back up. Some of them worked and some of them didn’t—but I really noticed a change when I began to take collagen as an anti-aging supplement.

I tried a few different brands, all of which derived their collagen from animal sources. But the one that I liked best, Vital Proteins, also offers collagen powder derived from wild-caught, Non-GMO Project Verified fish (like all of Vital Proteins products, the company tracks their ingredients to the source to make sure they’re pure and unadulterated).

Vital Proteins Marine Collagen takes a serious stance in the anti-aging fight, promising not only to promote youthful skin, healthier hair and stronger nails, but also to prevent injury and build lean muscle mass, support joint health, and improve healthy immune, digestive and central nervous systems.

I was skeptical. That’s a lot of claims and at $49 per canister, Vital Proteins Marine Collagen was an investment (Vital Proteins collagen derived from beef is about half the price).

But after a few weeks of dissolving a scoop of Vital Proteins Marine Collagen into my orange juice each morning, something was happening. I didn’t feel a difference in my muscles, joints and digestive systems—possibly because I’m not yet experiencing aging-related deficits in those areas. But I definitely noticed a difference in my face.

My skin looked plumper and smoother; the wrinkles were fainter. When I pushed on my cheek, I felt it bounce back. I hadn’t lost a decade’s worth of aging—but looked like I’d just come back from a very well-rested vacation. And at this point, that’s exactly the effect I’m looking for.

Plus, at one scoop per day, a canister full of Vital Proteins Marine Collagen will last me two months—it’s a bargain!

Want to try? I’ve got two canisters of Vital Proteins Marine Collagen worth $49 to give away!

The best non-surgical facial treatment is called “gua sha” from China. My facials incorporate this technique. The person I receive facials from is from Taiwan. What a huge difference in my face! I have been doing this from many years on my own. I also use Facercise. Of course, eating healthy, exercising, wearing SPF everyday are major factors.
