I clean most of my house with vinegar—a natural solution that’s been my go-to for years. But the acid in vinegar can damage hardwood floors, so for that I use Bona®.

Bona® is a Swedish company that’s been a world leader in natural hardwood floor care and maintenance for 100 years. They rely on tried-and-true formulas that have been certified—by organizations like GREEN GUARD, among others—to create truly non-toxic cleaners.

I love quick-drying, residue-free Bona® Free & Simple Hardwood Floor Cleaner, especially paired with one of their easy-to-use microfiber mops. The floors gleam but aren’t greasy, and the wood—in my house it too is about 100 years old—is conditioned so it retains that glossy appearance. Gorgeous!

I use Bona on my hardwood floors its the best!!

  2. We use an organic soap and water solution, but the wood floors are dull!

  3. Method’s hardwood floor cleaner is OK, but I’d prefer something less toxic.

  4. sometimes just soapy water

  5. Currently just use a steam mop, along with once in awhile adding some almond oil to water to give it a quick once over. Smells good, but not very efficient. Would like to try Bona products, had never heard of them until Mommy Greenest.

  6. Lori Sexton Leal says:

Unfortunately I’ve been using my DIY floor cleaner which consists of vinegar, water and essential oils. I now know I need to switch ASAP because the vinegar could damage our hardwood floors over time. I hope I haven’t done too much damage already!

  7. Birdiebee says:

At the present time, I use Murphy’s.

  8. Katie Amodio says:

Using Bona – cleans well and doesn’t harm the finish. I’d love to use their restoration system to fix teh really worn areas.

  9. Shirley Smith says:

I use Bona! Nothing leaves my floors cleaner or healthier for my Family.

  10. Sharon Rooney says:

I use my swiffer and the wood flooring cleaner.

  11. We are using Better Life right now but it’s not working as well as I hoped.

  12. The Swiffer and its cleaning product/towel that comes with it 🙁

  13. I usually use Murphy’s or else Dr. Bronner’s diluted in water. My floors are real hardwood, not one of the newer products like Pergo, so I would think different types of wood floors probably have different cleaning needs.

  14. Linda Bundrick says:

I use an old steam mop which has seen better days. I would love to try Bona wood floor cleaner.

  15. Marlene V. (Enelram) says:

I use a hardwood cleaner but it leaves streaks

  16. I use a vinegar solution too. I had no idea it could eventually ruin hard wood floors.

  17. I use pledge floor care and follow with water in a spray mop to remove residual chemicals, but would love something greener!

  18. lori byrd says:

    I use Murphy’s

  19. I use a generic Bona cleaner I found! : )

  20. We use a swiffer and we’re almost out of the Bona cleaner!

  21. A swiffer, and vinegar + oil. I didn’t know vinegar was bad for hardwood! I am interested in trying this product.

  22. Currently, I am searching for a product to clean our floors. I was told Bona is a good product use and I would like to give it a try.

  23. I use my steam mop, but sometimes it’s a pain to get out.

  24. I would love to try it, and can’t tell you the last time I washed my hardwoods… oy…

  25. Interesting, my bona certified hardwood installer told me to clean with water and vinegar. He said that was the best and if I HAD to buy a product he recommended only using Bona products.

  26. Most certainly! Right now I’ve been using a wet Swiffer, but that can’t be good for my feet or floors. So toxic!

  27. Dorothea says:

I tend to mop with plain water – that way I know I’m not leaving behind any chemicals…

  28. kathy downey says:

I have been using vinegar and lemon but now im worried im using the wrong cleaner

The only thing I use right now is Swiffer because I was not sure what to use on my wood floors! This
sounds like what I have been looking for and need.

  32. Katrina B. says:

a steam mop and spot cleaning

  33. Most of the time I use water and my Norwex mop system and it does the trick, but sometimes I need a little TLC and I’d like to try this.

  34. I wondered if it was as safe as they say it is. If you say so…: )

  35. Koren Chan says:

I alternate between Swiffer and a steam mop that just uses distilled water.
