about mommy greenest

family

Mommy Greenest began as a blog in 2008 and launched at MommyGreenest.com in 2010. The site is the brainchild of Rachel Lincoln Sarnoff, a mother of three—11-year-old son, eight-year-old daughter and the Barnacle (read: Baby)—who reduces, reuses and recycles with her family in Los Angeles, CA. The site puts a voice—and a face—to the idea of gently persuasive, living-by-example, never judgmental, eco-friendly parenting.

Rachel is a writer, producer and spokesperson who represents a new vision of eco-friendly living; she wrote the “L.A. Story” column for the Washington Post’s Sprig.com and was a reporter for PlanetGreen.com and Treehugger.com. Currently, Rachel is the resident “Green Guru” at Savings.com, “Queen of Green” at Shoestringmag.com and “Green Expert” at GetButtonedUp.com.

Rachel also publishes EcoStiletto.com, which dishes out daily eco-friendly fashion, beauty, lifestyle and celebrity advice to help shrink your carbon footprint from a ginormous boot into an oh-so-slender stiletto. The site recorded 1.5 million page views and nearly 500,000 unique visitors in 2009.

As a small-screen environista, Rachel has guested on eco-lifestyle “CNN Headline News Local Edition,” “Extra,” “Living With Ed,” “Hollywood Green,” “Good Day L.A.” and TV Guide Channel’s “The Fashion Team” segments. Rachel is one of non-profit Healthy Child, Healthy World’s “Voices for Change.”

Just so you know, we’d never ever sell, trade or otherwise profit from the email address and/or information you so generously entrust to us when you sign up for our Newsletter. Nor will we ever sell our editorial to an advertiser.

Nobody pays to play on Mommy Greenest; if there’s an ad on our site, you’ll recognize it as such. We may be poorer than some other peeps, but we’ve got integrity. (And charasma. But that’s another story.)
