Bloggers: Share Mommy Greenest Pregnancy Book & Enter 2 Win A Naturepedic Organic Luxury Mattress!

Mommy Greenest Pregnancy Book Organic Mattress GiveawaySo by now the cat’s out of the bag: The Mommy Greenest Guide to Pregnancy, Birth & Beyond book is here! But what you might not already know is the amazing help I received to bring it to you. Because I wanted the pregnancy book to be free for everyone in the Mommy Greenest community to read–and available at the lowest possible cost to order–I needed partners to support the production process. Luckily, four Mommy Greenest Approved brands stepped up! Without help from Acure Organics, Babo Botanicals, Naturepedic and Weleda, this pregnancy book would never have made it to completion. But it was the support of Naturepedic, the organic mattress company that provides safe and healthy products for the whole family to sleep on, that really tipped the balance: Not only did this incredible company sponsor the pregnancy book’s production, they’ve joined me to host a special contest for bloggers. Share information about the Mommy Greenest Guide to Pregnancy, Birth & Beyond book and you can enter to win a Naturepedic EOS Standard Organic Mattress worth $4,400! Editor’s note: The contest is now over; the winning blogger was Natalia Lazarus of Generation Pure. Congratulations Natalia!

I’ve written extensively about Naturepedic in the past, sharing information about their refusal to include toxic chemicals like flame retardants in their mattresses and bedding, as well as specific products that I love: the Organic Trio Pillow, the Organic Mattress Protector Pads and the lower-priced line of flame retardant free Lullaby Earth Crib Mattresses. The Naturepedic EOS Standard Organic Mattress is the creme de la creme of their line and is valued at $4,400, depending on size.

    Here’s my blog post!

  10. What is the true cost of a mattress when you factor in your health?

I’ve thought about this question a lot and decided to share my personal mattress journey in my newest blog post. Thank’s Rachael for bringing awareness to this topic with your new book. You are helping so many parents make realistic, educated decisions to live greener lives.

  11. Thank you for writing this eBook, and thank you for doing this! I need a new mattress for my future baby and for my current fiance! Our current mattress is old and we think it has mold in it (OMG!) because the movers left it in a truck with holes in it, so it got wet. Ugh! Plus, it wasn’t a natural mattress to begin with. Every day I wake up with allergy symptoms that go away when I leave the bed! Something’s up!

  12. Stephanie V. says:

It was all about being green while I was pregnant and after the baby was born. We researched everything — from beds, pillows, crib mattress, clothes, etc. We had a very limited budget so decided the organic crib mattress was the most important so purchased that. Mommy got some organic pillows and an organic topper, but the bed was too expensive. This hard working mama still dreams of an all organic bed! I got cancer when my little one was three and was really close to charging one, but my medical bills were just too high. Since I never got a clear (unfortunately cancer was in my lymph nodes and still hiding somewhere in my body) totally believe sleeping in an organic bed is of upmost importance to my health and keeping my cancer at bay. At this point, the organic pillows and mattress topper will have to do, but a tired, working mama can dream!

This book is look terrific. These were all my concerns then I was pregnant and had babies. These are still some of my concerns now that I am moving into a new house soon with young children. I have found out in the past few years that even the comfort of your own home is teaming with bad things that can hurt us with enough exposure. Thanks for putting a book out there like this. I truly wish more people were concerned with issues like these. I am passing this on to all my friends that are pregnant or thinking about being pregnant. So many people do not know about these issues. I currently don’t have a blog. Blessings…..

    • Rachel Sarnoff says:

OH thanks so much for your comment, Heather! I really appreciate you sharing the book with your friends. Healthier pregnancies = healthier kids = healthier future, right? 🙂
